I hate Dreamwidth! It totally sucks for loading pics!! GRRRRR!! I think I'm going to stick with LJ and just keep Dreamwidth open to read those who have left LJ.

It's been a perfectly quiet beautiful day! This morning I wrote a couple of e-mails to friends, did a bit of work, caught up on some blog reading, facebook, worked on a page for my journal, scanned/photgraphed some things, uploaded pictures from my camera, then made lunch, (sauteed yellow and green zuchinni, yellow squash, tomatoes, onion, green and red peppers, garlic and herbs, with a sprinkling of grated parmesan on top. Yummy!!) We have such a short season in which really fresh local vegetables are available. I just love them!) and after lunch paid bills. There's still a couple of hours of afternoon left. I should do laundry and paperwork but it's so nice out I think I'll sit on the front porch and read for a while.

Tuesday

It's a good thing I looked at my dayplanner again yesterday. I DID have a meeting with clients. We don't typically meet on a Monday so that threw me off. But it was a good day anyway. I put in a full day of work with admin paperwork, phone calls, e-mails, faxes and an appointment. When I got home from work I began working on a big pot of delicious Ratatouille for dinner, made a salad to go with it. And that was about all my foot could stand. No time for art yesterday. I was wiped out by evening. Aside from not having time for art the day was a really good one.

My foot is much much better today. I may be able to wear a shoe, the swelling has gone down and it's less painful to walk this morning, more stiff than painful. :-)

I should do paperwork this morning but I'm going to spend the morning working on the two art projects that I need to get in the mail. There will be time for paperwork later. I've got some vegetables I need to prepare for the freezer, and will be making borscht for dinner this evening. I LOVE having all these lovely fresh vegies available.

Home again!

I'm back from Fargo and Grand Forks. I had the best weekend! We stopped at Barnes and Noble when we got to Fargo while we were waiting for John to get off work. After he was home we went over to the house. We didn't get much of a visit with son John, he got called to work Friday. We did get to see John for a bit, and then stayed with Ashlyn, visited with her godparents who came over to watch her so we could continue on to Grand Forks before it got too late.. Every big tent that United Rental owns was set up at the airport for vendors and stations at the airport for the big Fargo AirSho. Strong storm passed through and tents were down. All 15 of them! John had to go to direct people, and help them in setting them up again. But we had a nice visit with Ashlyn and her godparents before we left to drive to Grand Forks.

Tom dropped me off in Grand Forks where I spent the weekend with my friend Dr. Trish Hunter, and then drove home to Williams. We stayed up until 3AM Friday night talking, laughing. We were planning on coming home Saturday evening but decided to stay another night. A friend of Trish was away for the weekend and let us stay in her house. There is a lovely patio with privacy fence where we spent lots of time. It was like renting a cottage but didn't cost a thing. So quiet and relaxing.

Saturday we went out for lunch at Space Aliens. What a fun place! Lots of fun games for kids of all ages, (tons of leftovers taken home in boxes). as my mother used to say, "Chicken today, feathers tomorrow" I have a food hangover from the weekend. The scales screamed when I got on this morning. It was pretty much a binge on the weekend. We slept in a bit on Saturday, did some shopping, looked at cars, went to the Farmer's market and I brought home eggplant, and 3 kinds of summer squash. I think I'll be making some rattatouille for dinner tonight. Yum, Back to healthy eating and lots of water and green tea drinking today. I feel like a slug. Saturday night our dinner was corn on the cob and summer squash roasted on the grill. Wonderful!

Trish and I returned to Roseau yesterday evening, Tom drove down to pick me up. I ended up holding Henri, her Maltichon who chewed his way out of the fabric kennel halfway home. What an adorable but neurotic little pooch! LOL When we got back to her house when we were carrying things in from the car I jammed my big toe and it's quite painful even today. My plans for a 4 mile today has kind of gone down the tubes, I don't know if I can bear to wear shoes today, let alone walk much distance. My foot kept waking me up last night.

It felt so WRONG not to pack art supplies to go with me! I probably wouldn't have had time anyway, but I'm jonesing for art time this morning. I did have a couple of books along and finished reading Jodi Picoult's book HOUSE RULES. I could hardly put it down when I started it. It was a really good book! (A boy with Aspberger's is accused of murder). Fascinating story!

So far I don't have any appointments today, a good thing since my foot hurts, I won't have to try to put on shoes. I will use the day to catch up a bit on paperwork, collaborative phone calls, and finish a couple of art projects.

Journal Cover

This is the cover of the 50cent compostion book that I altered with paint, gesso, and stamped with paint for a round robin that I am a participant for Denise Mihalik's creativity group. What a grand experience this group has been. I've met some wonderful creative types, and get to spend time with some of my favorite artsy peeps I've known for a long time!
